Most Rev. Dr. T. Sagayaraj, Bishop of Thanjavur, is the founder of the “We Are Carlos Association”, a pious movement dedicated to the teenagers of the Diocese of Thanjavur. From the very first day of his episcopal consecration, Bishop Sagayaraj has rooted his ministry deeply in the fields of education and youth empowerment.
According to him, education is the most powerful tool to transform society, overcoming corruption, inequalities, divisions, and religious fundamentalism. The We Are Carlos Association is the fruit of his pastoral vision, designed to guide and inspire the teenagers of his diocese. His desire is to bring together all boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 22, offering them the values of Jesus Christ, the protection of Our Lady, and the missionary inspiration of Blessed Carlo Acutis.
Bishop Sagayaraj recognizes that today’s teenagers and youth are strongly drawn to social media and digital technology.
