First Miracle

Carlo Acutis' first miracle, recognized in February 2020, involved the healing of a Brazilian child named Mattheus. He was born with a congenital pancreatic disease called annular pancreas, which caused him to vomit frequently. After Mattheus and his mother prayed for Carlo's intercession during a prayer service, the boy's condition began to improve rapidly. The healing was deemed medically inexplicable, paving the way for Carlo's beatification on October 10, 2020. This miracle showcases Carlo's ability to intercede on behalf of others, demonstrating his devotion to the Eucharist and his growing legacy as a saint.

Second Miracle

Carlo Acutis' second miracle involved the healing of Valeria Valverde, a 21-year-old Costa Rican university student. Valeria suffered a severe head injury in a bicycle accident while studying in Florence, Italy, in 2022. She underwent emergency surgery, and doctors gave her a low chance of survival. Valeria's mother, Lilliana, prayed for Carlo's intercession at his tomb in Assisi, leaving a written note asking for her daughter's recovery. Miraculously, Valeria began to breathe independently again and was able to walk the next day. All evidence of the brain hemorrhage had disappeared, defying medical expectations. Pope Francis recognized this miracle on May 23, 2024, paving the way for Carlo's canonization.
